Description
Jonas Salk and Byron Bennett, a research associate who prepared monkey blood and tissue samples for testing and investigated type 2 of the polio virus. Prior to joining the Pitt research team, Bennett served as a Major in the Army Medical Corps during World War 2, where he assisted in the efforts to control Typhus outbreaks during the Italian and North African campaigns.
