Gothic; The St. Eustace Window Delaporte no. 62, Deremble-Manhes no. 43Panel 33: The Martyrdom of Eustace and his Family (center)Eustace and his family are broiled in a brazen bull. The bull is parallel to the plane of the panel. Below it two men kneel, using bellows to fan the fire underneath the bull. In the bull sit Eustace’s wife and sons. Eustace is at center, identified by the inscription EVSTACIVS. He reaches upwards toward a hand that descends from Heaven holding a crown. At left stands a man pulling Eustace’s hair and beating him with a stick. At right another man appears to reach for the crown being offered to Eustace.
