Description
Gothic; Ancient and Modern Glass WindowDeremble-Manhes no. 33A, Delaporte 57This image has been digitally brightened for increased visibility of details, applied to either the entire panel or parts of it. To view the current condition of this panel, please see the corresponding image whose file name ends with 01.A portion of Panel 17 is visible to the left of Panels 53 and 54, with parts of Panels 55, 56 and 58 to the right. Panel 17 is part of the border of the original 13th century window; the censing angel is not visible in this view. Panel 54 is 20th century geometric multi-colored patterned glass with a circle centered within, created in 1964-66 by François Lorin.Panel 53 is a 13th century floral border fragment from a legendary window of unknown origin. As 13th century Panels 24 through 29 were not wide enough in their fragmentary state to fit the width of the panel sections of this window within the angel border, two vertical strips of glass (the inner one red, the outer one blue) were added next to the border panel to fill out the dimensions originally called for by the contents of the former St. Lawrence window panels. These continue along the border to the top of the window, with the exception of that along Panel 57, where only the blue band is present.; Ancient and Modern Glass
