Gothic; The Sylvester WindowDelaporte no. 30, Deremble-Manhes no. 8.Panel 17: The Bath of BloodConstantine’s pagan doctors believed that the only way to cure his leprosy was to have him bathe in the freshly shed blood of 3,000 infants. In this panel, the bath is being prepared. In the center, a male figure stands behind a large round vessel (compare with the baptismal font in panel 24) He hold a naked child and another naked child stands in front of the font. To the left is a figure in the door of a stylized building (Delaporte believes this is a messenger ordering the massacre to be halted) To the right stands a soldier in what appears to be chain mail, holding a sword. To the extreme right is a group of nude children.; The St. Sylvester Window
