Lintel; Gothic; West Façade, Central PortalLintel-Apostles- DetailHaloed, barefoot, seated men holding books or scrolls. Some have crossed legs; some appear to address one another. Most are bearded. They are usually identified as the Apostles. Katzenellenbogen points out that Christ promised they would be with him on the Day of Judgment (Matthew 19:28 and Luke 22:28-9).
