Rev. LeRoy Patrick, Pastor Emeritus of Bethesda Presbyterian Church, former member and president of the Pittsburgh School Board, former member and chair of the Pennsylvania Black Democratic Committee, and member of numerous other boards. Family; childhood moves between South Carolina, Florida, and Philadelphia. Growing up and trying to find work in the Great Depression. His high school years: racial tensions, the Philadelphia Free Library, academic discrimination.
