Description
Anne Nixon recalls facing racial discrimination in seeking employment. She mentions working for a Black woman's remodeling shop and her involvement with the Urban League. She discusses her family's experiences during the Great Depression and her longstanding membership in the NAACP. Nixon touches on her involvement with the labor union during her federal government job. She reflects on the limited impact of the union initially but acknowledges its growing support for Black employees. Nixon then shares details about her accomplished children, family reunions and her active participation in her Baptist church, where she serves as a trustee and is involved in various groups.
