Description
Gothic; The Jonah, Daniel, and Habakkuk WindowDelaporte no. 173, Deremble-Manhes no. 141aNorth nave ClerestoryThis window contains three large mandorla shapes arranged vertically along the axis of the window. Each contains the seated figure of an Old Testament Prophet. Each has a halo and holds a large phylactery containing his name. The middle one, Daniel (inscription DANIEL) is bearded and looks toward the east. The topmost is Habakkuk (inscription ABACV[C]) who look toward the west. These figures may have some relationship with the Jesse Tree window that is nearby in the West End (Delaporte no. 1, Deremble-Manhes no. 49). Daniel and Habakkuk also appear in this window.Lancet window, 7.37 by 1.78 metersRestored in 1874 by Coffetier; North Nave Clerestory: The Jonah, Daniel, and Habakkuk Window
