Description
Gothic; The Good Samaritan WindowDelaporte no. 6, Deremble-Manhes no. 44Panel 18: Fall of Man (Genesis 3:1-7)Eve (at left, naked) stands holding a round fruit. At center is the Tree of the Knowledge of Good and Evil, hung with yellow fruit. The serpent is barely visible in its foliage (it has wings, as befits a fallen angel). At right, Adam stands at left, clutching his throat. This is probably an allusion to the legend that, when Adam ate the apple, it stuck in his throat, causing men to have “Adam’s apples.” In the background is stylized foliage.; The Good Samaritan/Creation Window
