Abbanes brought Thomas back to India and presented him to King GundophorusIn the background is an arcade with carved capitals, which indicates that the scene is taking place in a sumptuous interior. At right sits King Gundophorus (crowned, holding a scepter). In one hand, he touches the fastening of his mantle, a gesture often associated with people of the higher classes. In the center is a kneeling man, probably Abbanes. At left stands Thomas, identifiable by his halo and bare feet.; The Thomas the Apostle Window
