Gothic; The Rémi Window Delaporte no. 28, Deremble-Manhes no. 12Panel 20: Rémi shows King Clovis a burning man (idol?)The interpretation of this panel is unclear, since this episode does not appear in the surviving medieval accounts of Rémi ’s life. At left stands King Clovis, bearded, crowned and holding a scepter with a large red shape at its tip (a flame?). In the middle stands Rémi (haloed) wearing a mitre and a pallium and holding a book. He gestures toward a figure of a man which is enveloped by a red shape that Delaporte says is a flame. The man does not have a beard, and holds one of his hands to his face, while the other grasps a rod-shaped curved object. Below the man is a square object that Delaporte describes as an altar.Compare with Panel 17 of the Sts. Simon and Jude window.; The St. Rémi Window
