Description
Historiated; Gothic; Left and Center faces of center column of right side of right door. Unknown subject matter. However, Kidson says that though the youth on the back of the centaur ( barely visible at right) recalls the classical story of the education of Achilles, while the other figures in the left side of the capital "the battle of the centaurs and lapiths over Hippodamia." (Kidson, pp 6-7.) Half-naked bearded man at left (with hooves?) raises a sword toward a woman standing at right. right, a centaur with a naked man on its back draws a bow.To the left is a foliate capital on the left-most column.; Narthex Capital
