George Washington (1732-1799). Washington before the battle of Yorktown, giving orders to commence the entrenchments accompanied by Lafayette, Knox, Lincoln and Rochambeu. The National Picture Gallery in the Rotunda of the Capitol. From a collection of paintings illustrating the Disrobery of America and Early History of the United States. Executed expressly by the order of congress by the most celebrated american artists.
