Description
Chess records his farm work, land surveying, business with various people as well as personal meetings, and the time of Agricultural and Horticultural Society meetings. In late March, he travels to Altoona and Harrisburg, visiting the “state lunatic asylum” on the 22nd and reporting to be very sick the next day. He keeps track of the hours of hired workers in the memorandum section at the end.
