Latin American Postcard Collection Latin American Postcard Collection

The collection features 882 Latin American postcards from the 1900s to the 1950s, representing all the South American countries along with Cuba. These postcards provide insight into the culture and attitudes of the era, documenting iconic churches, hotels, and buildings, as well as urban and rural life, indigenous peoples, traditional dances, and festivals.

La colección incluye 882 postales latinoamericanas de las décadas de 1900 a 1950, que representan todos los países sudamericanos junto con Cuba. Estas postales brindan una perspectiva de la cultura y las actitudes de la época, documentando iglesias, hoteles y edificios emblemáticos, así como la vida urbana y rural, los pueblos indígenas, las danzas tradicionales y los festivales.

The ULS has digitized over 200,000 unique objects (resulting in over two million digital pages and images!) from several special collecting units, including the Archives & Special Collections and Center for American Music as well as several Pitt Faculty members and regional partner institutions.
