Description
During WWII, the University of Pittsburgh played host to a large number of cadets, as the University had done during the first World War. The main group of people trained at the University were cadets enlisted in the Air Cadet Training Program. From 1942-1943, around 4,135 cadets would be trained at the University. They lived and trained around 11,000 normal civilian students. The University added showers and toilets to the Cathedral of Learning to host these cadets.
