This volume contains the accounts of customers purchasing meat, produce, and wood from the Whitcomb Meat Market from July to November, 1890. Included are the customers' names and a list of their purchases. The price of the items and notations on when the customer paid the market is also recorded. The ledger is arranged by the date of the customer's first purchase beginning on July 8, 1890. The full name of the owner and the location of the market are not apparent from the ledger. There is also evidence of the ledger's reuse as a child's notebook for practicing mathematics and writing poems.

Gift to the Darlington Memorial Library in 1937.
