History

The Polish Women's Club of Pittsburgh is a fraternal organization set up as a social group for women of Polish descent for the purpose of cultural advancement. In the 1980s the group raised money to send medical supplies to Poland.

Scope and Content

The records of the Polish Women's Club contain constitution and by-laws; minute books; membership ledger and lists; attendance records; and miscellaneous materials.

The miscellaneous materials consist of 4 items of general correspondence, 1981-1982; a press release on Americares for Poland; newsclippings on Americares; and copies of letters from the Secretariat of State for the Vatican and Vice President George Bush.
