The collection consists mainly of church registers from 1883 to 1985. The records include anniversary programs and lists of baptisms, confirmations, communions, marriages, and deaths.

History

The Zion Evangelical Lutheran Church was founded in 1883 by Rev. Adolph Egbert to help serve the German Lutheran Church in Mount Washington, Pittsburgh, Pa. Programs from the 40th, 50th, and 75th anniversaries are included in the collection and provide additional information about church history and Rev. Adolph Egbert. The most recent church history can be found in the program, "A Night With the Steelers" (January 18, 1985).

Scope and Content Notes

The records span the years, 1883-1985, and consist of 747 frames on one reel of microfilm. The collection consists mainly of church registers from 1883 to 1976. These records contain lists of baptisms, confirmations, communions, marriages, and deaths. The collection includes Council and Congregation minutes and early envelope system accounts (1904-1917). Also included in the collection are the 40th, 50th, and 75th Anniversary programs, which includes information about church history and Rev. Adolph Egbert. The most recent church history can be found in the program, "A Night With the Steelers". Furthermore, two undated photographs of the church can be found at the end of the collection.
