History
Originating in 1947, the Polish Arts League of Pittsburgh combines a rich cultural history of the arts and education of Polish art, music and literature. This club endeavored to assist the Polish/Polish American artist by providing materials for their work as well as being a encourager to them in their efforts. Functioning as a promoter of Polish Arts, the Polish Arts League of Pittsburgh tried to impress upon the people of Pittsburgh the beauty and uniqueness of Polish art by educating the public about their art and heritage. Aspiring artists were given direction and guidance in their area of talent. The club advertized for any people interested in contributing objects to the league were eligible for membership.
