History

The Daughters of Erin, the woman's affiliate of the Knights of Equity, had as its aims and objectives to aid the Knights of Equity financially, socially, and to further its mission, principles and causes; to participate in Catholic Action and contribute to charity; and to foster Americanism. Court #9 had its first organizational meeting on February 21, 1956 at the William Penn Hotel in Pittsburgh. Mrs. Anabelle Kilkeany was elected as the organization's first president.

Scope and Content Notes

This collection contains the minutes of the monthly meetings of the Daughters of Erin, Court #9, Pittsburgh, Pa. The records are displayed on two partial reels. Reel 1 contains the minutes from 1956 until December, 1963. Reel 2 contains the records from December 16, 1963 until 1976.
