This collection contains research materials for a project focusing on Slavonic immigration to Western Pennsylvania. The project was directed by William V. Wallace, Department of History, University of Pittsburgh, 1953-1954. The records include correspondence, reports of interviews, reports and extracts from books, notes, newspaper announcements, distribution lists, and card files. The card files consist of index cards of individuals, ethnic institutions, societies, organizations, and churches in Western Pennsylvania. The card file also includes a bibliography of ethnic studies; history of Central, East, and Southeast Europe organized by country; and ethnic groups in the U.S. and Pennsylvania organized by nationality.
There are access restrictions on Folder 2 until 75 years after date of creation. Until then researchers wishing to view the contents of this folder must sign a confidentiality agreement. Please contact the Archives Service Center for more information.
