Description
500 block of Second Avenue and Boulevard of the Allies featuring an eagle statue on a pedestal, the Hotel William Penn, American Amoco Gas sign, Goodall Rubber Co. Inc. sign, and the Try Street Terminal. The eagle is one of two situated on Doric Granite Memorial Columns, carved with liberty heads, patriotic symbols, and dedicatory inscriptions. American eagles clasp globes at the top of each column. The columns were made by sculptor Frank Vittor. The road sign for Interstate 22/30 can be seen beside the road and traffic fills the street in both directions.
