Description
View of Heinz Memorial Chapel from the corner of Fifth and Bellefield Avenues. This non-denominational chapel was a gift of H. J. Heinz and is located near the Cathedral of Learning. The neo-Gothic chapel was designed by Charles Klauder who also designed the Cathedral of Learning and the Stephen Foster Memorial all located on the same plot of land bordered by Fifth Avenue, Bellfield Avenue, Forbes Avenue, and Bigelow Boulevard. The chapel boasts 23 stained glass windows designed by Charles Connick. It was dedicated in 1938.
