Description
View of the future Cathedral of Learning site , looking north from the rooftop of the Hotel Schenley. The Frick Acres buildings, including the Browne house and tennis courts feature prominently. Also visible are the Masonic Temple, Bellefield Presbyterian Church, Webster Hall, St. Paul's Cathedral, and the Young Men's and Women's Hebrew Association (YMWHA). This location was picked by Chancellor John Gabbert Bowman for the site of the Cathedral of Learning in 1920 to fulfill requirements of the growing University.
