Description
Sadie M. discusses her family's roots in the South and to sharecropping raising cotton, tobacco, and sugarcane. She recounted her memories of migrating from the South to Pennsylvania in 1918 and then returning due to the epidemic before resettling in 1924. Sadie M. talked about life in Pittsburgh, poverty, hard work, and valuing education. She shared her observations on racial disparities, comparing opportunities for Blacks in the North and South.
