Description
Sadie M. continues discussing the history and activities of the Second Baptist Church in Homestead including the early days of the church and its location on 14th and Sarah. She details the work of the missionary circle, which involved both home and foreign missions, although the focus shifted more to home missions over time. She mentions her role as president and the changes in the group's activities over the years, especially with the younger generation favoring monetary assistance over other forms of aid. Sadie M. recalls stories about individuals migrating from the South for work in the mill, particularly referencing her uncle's role in bringing workers to the area. She expresses concern about the younger generation's involvement in church activities, mentioning their lack of commitment, knowledge, and respect for older members' experiences and wisdom.
