Description
Diary records Chess’s work around Allegheny County, in land surveying, writing deeds and agreements, and farm work. He takes note of letters he’s received or written to others and the names of people he meets on a given day. He records his regular church attendance, especially at Mt. Pisgah Church, including who preached at the service and what Bible verses were used. There is a small ledger in the back.
