Description
Volume contains a record of the daily transactions of the Mount Vernon Iron Furnace. Each transaction is recorded with a description including names, items, and value in cash. Most date from 1820 to 1821, but the back of the volume contains some transactions from 1823 and an entry from 1825. Daybooks were used to record transactions chronologically before being entered into a ledger which was organized by individual accounts.
