Description
Demolition of the second Point Bridge. Construction on the second Point Bridge began in 1925 adjacent to the first bridge and was completed in 1927 by the Fort Pitt Bridge Works. The second bridge replaced the previous bridge built between 1875 and 1877 by the American Bridge Company. The second Point Bridge closed in 1959 to traffic which had been routed to the Fort Pitt Bridge. The second Point Bridge demolition began in April 1970.
