Description
Sabina Wolfe was Hugh Henry Brackenridge’s second wife, whom he married in 1790. While Brackenridge lived in Pittsburgh, Wolfe was sent to Philadelphia. This is probably where she had her portrait painted by Rembrandt Peale, an important American portrait and history painter, who also painted life portraits of presidents George Washington and Thomas Jefferson.
