Description
In front of a painted backdrop, decorated with a grassy hillside, trees and a rainbow, a large singing group composed of both women and men performs at the Lions Club Show. The show took place every year in Oakmont High School and continued to occur there even when the school became the Gilmore School, an elementary school, in 1961. The annual show was, and still is, immensely popular with Oakmonters and showcases local talent. They used to select a Lions Show Queen from among the participating high school girls; the crowning was one of the crowd's favorite aspects of the show. The Lions Club show currently takes place in the Tenth Street School's auditorium. Originally from the collection of Len Flowers.
