Description
The 1936 St. Patrick's Day Flood covered much of Oakmont Avenue, now Allegheny River Boulevard in water. The southern end, shown here, flooded the most. On the left side of the photo, Reed's Apartments appear. On the left is an abandoned, flooded car. Behind the automobile, many groups of people stand on the railroad tracks, looking down on the flooded streets. Over 130 buildings were damaged in Oakmont alone.
