Description
View of the Conemaugh Valley Memorial Hospital on Franklin Street in Johnstown. After the Red Cross removed the temporary hospital tents they provided in the aftermath of the flood of 1889, the citizens of Johnstown came together to establish the Conemaugh Valley Memorial Hospital. The hospital opened on February 4, 1892, with sixty beds and nine staff physicians.
