Description
Progress Photograph Number 28 of the William Penn Hotel. The hotel was designed by Janssen and Abbot and the construction engineer was James L. Stuart. The steel framing of the two lowest levels for the lobby are twice as tall as the stories for the rooms. It still looks like this photograph was taken from the top of Kaufmann's Department store. And the lights that illuminate the front of the Leader building are also visible. They have continued more work on the brick masonry; the majority of the structure has been covered in brick. The lower four floors decorated in a white stone. The George A Guller Company Building Construction sign has been moved to the side of the building. In this photo, they have also started working on the decorative stone work at street-level.
