John Miller sold groceries, dry goods, tobacco, and whiskey, along with many other items including, wine, rum, coffee, peach brandy, oil, silk, molasses, sugar, butter, and gin. Miller's store was located in what is now Westmoreland County, Pennsylvania. This ledger includes the daily records of business transactions from September 8, 1817 through October 13, 1824, and includes purchases, prices, and a list of customers.

This collection was located in the Darlington Memorial Library in the University's Cathedral of Learning until 2007 when it was moved to the ULS Archives Service Center for processing, storage, preservation and service. However, it remains in the custodianship of the ULS Special Collections Department.
