Description
Construction of the Stephen Foster Memorial at the University of Pittsburgh. The groundbreaking for the building took place on January 13, 1935, and the building was dedicated on June 2, 1937. Charles Z. Klauder was the Architect for the project. Stephen Foster was born in Lawrenceville, Pa. on July 4, 1826. He was one of America's most famous composers, writing such songs as "Oh! Susanna" and "My Old Kentucky Home, Good Night."
