Description
From the Krasnaia zvedza (The Red Star) issue of 3 December 1934 in memory of Sergei Kirov. Sergei Mironovich Kirov (1886-1934) was the head of the Leningrad branch of the party. His assassination on December 1, 1934, was the catalyst for Stalin's Purges. This photo does not include Abel Enukidze( from the original photograph), who soon would be expelled from the party in June 1935.
