Description
Construction work on the Forbes Quadrangle continues. he building is now known as Wesley W. Posvar Hall. It was built on the site of legendary Forbes Field, home of the Pittsburgh Pirates from 1909 to 1970. The actual home plate from Forbes Field has been preserved in the floor of Wesley W. Posvar Hall. A commemorative plaque mentions the final games played; a double-header against the Chicago Cubs on June 28, 1970. The Pirates won both games, 4-1 and 3-2. At 744,695 square feet, its floor area is equivalent to that of the Cathedral of Learning..
