Delaporte suggests it is applauding the Coronation of the Virgin.Panel 23: Coronation of the VirginAt center right, Mary (haloed, barefooted) sits on a wide throne, holding a rod (scepter?) in one hand while with the other she gestures toward Christ (center right) who is placing a crown on her head. Above, a dove (Holy Ghost) descends from a cloud- red bands reach from its beak to the heads of Mary and Christ. On each side stand angels (barefooted, haloed) hold phylacteries which read, according to Delaporte TE DEVM LAVDAMVS. Panel 24: AngelAn angel (haloed, barefoot) stands with its hands clasped.
