Description
A view of stacks tumbling over during the demolition of O. H. #3. This furnace was erected between 1898 and 1899 and was the third Open Hearth Furnace shop to be put into service in Homestead. When it was originally constructed, O. H. #3 housed 24 open-hearth furnaces under one roof, a record for the time.
