Description
View looking north of Allegheny Avenue from the intersection with Western Avenue. The Calvary United Methodist Church is visible on the right side of the image. The church was formed in 1891 after the Christ Methodist Episcopal Church located downtown burned. Two churches resulted once the downtown property was sold and the insurance money was paid, Calvary and the First United Methodist Church located in Shadyside.
