Discussion of the origins of enslavement and the Black Diaspora as it relates to the transnational movement of enslaved Africans during the Trans Atlantic Slave Trade, and how remnants of enslavement permeate present day society. Topics include The Black Codes (laws restricting the freedom of Black people), cultural expression and representation, and Latin American countries like Colombia, Chile, Argentina, and Mexico.
