Description
American jazz tenor saxophonist Joe Henderson (April 24, 1937 – June 30, 2001) was born in Lima, Ohio and hit the Detroit jazz scene when he was 18. He attended Wayne State University where he honed his compositional abilities. While completing two years in the Army, he won a talent show and was then chosen to entertain soldiers on a tour. An incredible sideman, Henderson played with Miles Davis, Chick Corea, Blood, Sweat & Tears, to name a few.
