Contact sheet from a basketball clinic during the Youth Olympiad. Basketball legend Connie Hawkins can be seen throughout the photos putting the kids through their paces. Basketball clinics and sectional playoffs were held across the city at Warrington, Ormsby, Armstrong, Moore, Ammon, Enright, Fowler, Manchester, North View, Fifth Avenue High School, Glen Hazel, Arsenal, and Homewood Fields. Final playoffs were held at the Civic Arena. Hawkins played for the Pittsburgh Rens of the American Basketball League from 1961 to 1963 than played again in Pittsburgh in the 1967-1968 season for the Pittsburgh Pipers of the American Basketball Association before the team moved to Minnesota.
