Description
Chancellor, 1921-1945. The buildings for which the University is most famous, including the Cathedral of Learning, Heinz Memorial Chapel, and the Stephen Foster Memorial, were built during the tenure of John G. Bowman, who became chancellor in 1921 and led the University through the Great Depression and World War II.
