Description
Dondarō has been away from the capital for three years making his fortune. When he returns, neither his wife nor his mistress recognize him and tell him they have remarried. He decides to become a monk. Realizing later that they have sent away a man with great fortune, the women cooperate to convince him to return to them (pictured here). He manipulates them into agreeing to share his affections peacefully. Signature: 江 文 [Kōbun]. Seal: White letter seals in a pair: 月・岡 [Tsuki・oka]. Category: Kyōgen (woman play).
