These materials document local composers, musicians and the Pittsburgh theatre scene. Many of the collections contain early and rare manuscript music materials.
Ford E. and Harriet R. Curtis Theatre Collection of Pittsburgh Theatre Programs
The Ford E. and Harriet R. Curtis Theatre Collection contain tens of thousands of Pittsburgh theatre programs from the 1840s to the present. They include productions from current performing arts groups in Pittsburgh. Sometimes newspaper clippings, marketing materials, photographs, and memorabilia related to the theatres and performing arts companies are stored with the programs.
Erroll Garner Archive
Erroll Garner (1921-1977) was an African American pianist/composer from Pittsburgh, Pa., known largely for his 1954 composition "Misty," and his 1955 live album Concert by the Sea. The digital collection documents portions of his life and work; it contains correspondences, legal documents, and personal writings. Additionally, many of the items included document the life and work of Martha Glaser, who was Garner's manager throughout his career. Prior to her career as Garner’s manager, Glaser worked within the City of Chicago’s Department of Public Information and Education as a civil rights advocate.

Collection provides a valuable record of Stephen Foster's composition process, nineteenth century life in the United States, the music business, Pittsburgh history, and Foster's legacy.
