Historic Pittsburgh

Historic Pittsburgh is a comprehensive collection of local resources that supports personal and scholarly research of the western Pennsylvania area. This Web site enables access to historic material held by the University of Pittsburgh's University Library System, the Library & Archives at the Heinz History Center, Carnegie Museum of Art, Chatham College Archives, Pittsburgh History & Landmarks Foundation, and Point Park University Archives. The project represents a model of cooperation between libraries, museums and institutions of higher learning in providing centralized access to selections of their respective historic materials.

	Full-Text Collection Search or browse over 1,200 books about Pittsburgh published in the 19th and early 20th centuries. We recently added a new text collection comprised of Pittsburgh city directories.
	Maps Search and view Hopkins Real Estate maps, the Warrantee Atlas of Allegheny County, Flood Commission maps, and Geodetic and Topographic Survey maps of Pittsburgh.
	Image Collections Search and browse over 13,000 images visually documenting Pittsburgh from the collections and archives of six local cultural heritage institutions.
	Archival Finding Aids Search and browse guides to the contents of over 1,000 archival and manuscript collections from the Archives Service Center at Pitt and the Library & Archives at the Heinz History Center.
	Census Records Search U.S. Census Schedules for the City of Pittsburgh (1850-1880) and Allegheny City (1850-1870)
	Chronology Search and browse a chronology of Pittsburgh covering nearly 300 years of local history (1717-2008).
