The Full-Text Collection contains over 1,200 published works from the nineteenth and early twentieth centuries that document Pittsburgh history. It comprises two distinct collections. The Historic Pittsburgh General Text Collection includes general histories and historical overviews (political, social, industrial, etc.) of Pittsburgh and the region. The Historic Pittsburgh City Directories provide access to 125 city directories published by J.F. Diffenbacher, R.L. Polk, and others between 1815 and 1945.
